Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Florida Car Crash

Golf icon Tiger Woods was arrested on Friday, facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) following a car accident in Florida. He was also accused of property damage and refusing a lawful test. Woods was held for eight hours, the minimum required by Florida law, before being released on bail.

According to authorities, Woods’ Land Rover collided with a timber truck while he was attempting to overtake it, resulting in the crash. Neither driver sustained injuries in the incident, though Woods exited his vehicle through the passenger door. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Woods declined to provide a urine sample but did agree to take a breathalyzer test.

The local sheriff stated that while alcohol was not suspected, they believed Woods might have been under the influence of other substances, an assumption that will now remain unconfirmed. “There’s a law he’ll be charged under for refusing that test, but we’ll never get definitive results on what caused his impairment at the time of the crash,” the sheriff commented.

The golf legend and former world No. 1, Tiger Woods, had recently made his first professional appearance in over a year this week, representing the Juptier Links Golf Club in the TGL (The Golf League) final last Tuesday (which they lost). Speculation had also been rekindled this week that Woods might be planning a return for the Masters in Augusta on April 9th.
