Tottenham Dealt Injury Blow: Kulusevski Suffers Foot Injury

Tottenham’s injury crisis has worsened with star forward Dejan Kulusevski now sidelined due to a foot injury.

Spurs’ 2024-25 season has been plagued by injuries to key players including James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Radu Dragusin, and Micky van de Ven, who have all faced extended periods of absence.

Sweden international Kulusevski is the latest casualty. He has been a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 27 league appearances.

The Daily Mail report he is undergoing tests as Tottenham seeks to determine the full extent of the injury.

The cause of the injury is not yet known, but it is likely to rule him out of Thursday’s match against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League knockout stage.

He is also doubtful for Sunday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth, a crucial match for Spurs as they aim to move back into the top half of the table.

Spurs may also request that he miss Sweden’s matches against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland during the March international break to continue his recovery in London.

This is Kulusevski’s first injury of the season and only the second since joining Tottenham.

His previous injury was in September 2022, a thigh problem that kept him out for 10 games.

A run of only one win in 11 games between December and January caused Spurs to drop to 15th in the league table.

Although they have since recovered slightly to 13th, Postecoglou has been quick to downplay blame.

“It’s just injuries,” he stated in late January.

“I believe the squad we’ve assembled now is exciting.

“When everyone is fit, the club will benefit, not just this year but for many years to come.”
