Speaking from the White House, Trump stated he had advised the UK against deploying its aircraft carriers, asserting they were “not the best” when compared to American capabilities.
These comments are likely to escalate tensions with Keir Starmer, who had previously declined the use of British bases for offensive strikes against Iran.
Trump expressed his “deep disappointment” with NATO allies, accusing them of only being willing to join the conflict once fighting had ended.
