Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk was seen in conversation with Paris Saint-Germain executives, raising concerns among Liverpool supporters about his future with the club.
Following Liverpool’s Champions League elimination on Tuesday, where they lost to PSG in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 aggregate score, footage emerged of Van Dijk speaking with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Sporting Director Luis Campos.

In the penalty shootout, PSG’s Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Dembele, and Desire Doue successfully converted their penalties, while Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones had their penalties saved by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
After the Reds’ painful defeat in the Champions League Round of 16, captain Van Dijk, 33, was filmed talking with PSG’s president and strategic advisor in the tunnel area.
A video clip circulated showing the three in friendly discussion, which occurred a week after Van Dijk and Campos had a minor disagreement. Campos had previously complained about a decision where he felt Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool should have received a red card in their first-leg match.
Liverpool fans are particularly anxious because Van Dijk’s contract is set to expire in June, and there have been no updates regarding a contract renewal.
This situation has led some fans to worry that Van Dijk might be considering a move to PSG as a free agent.
One fan expressed the sentiment online, saying, “Like the loss wasn’t bad enough.”
Another fan commented expressing disappointment, and a third described the situation negatively.
Some fans online reacted with surprise or suspicion to the news of the conversation.
Currently, there are no confirmed reports linking Van Dijk with a transfer to PSG.
However, Liverpool faces potential uncertainty as Van Dijk, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, also have contracts expiring in June.
