Wrexham midfielder Elliot Lee reveals details of harrowing car crash he miraculously survived

Wrexham AFC player Elliot Lee has opened up about a frightening car accident he was involved in last week. The 30-year-old midfielder shared shocking photos of the severely damaged vehicle on social media, expressing how fortunate he feels to have escaped without major injuries.

The incident occurred on February 11th as Lee was driving home after Wrexham’s EFL Trophy match against Bolton. According to a statement from the club, the collision involved two vehicles, with both drivers requiring hospital treatment. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene.

While Lee was unable to play in Wrexham’s subsequent matches, he took to Instagram to update fans on his condition. He wrote: “Last Tuesday night I realized how fragile life can be and how quickly everything can change in an instant through no fault of your own. I’m incredibly lucky someone was watching over me, as I know the outcome could have been much worse.”

The midfielder, who is the son of former Premier League and England player Rob Lee, shared his gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received. He thanked the emergency responders, as well as friends and family who rushed to his aid. Lee expressed hope that he will be able to return to the pitch soon.

The images posted by Lee show extensive damage to the front end of his vehicle, underscoring the severity of the crash. Having joined Wrexham from Luton Town in 2022, Lee has made over 130 appearances for the Welsh club. He previously played for West Ham United and had several loan spells with other teams.

Lee’s brush with disaster serves as a sobering reminder of life’s fragility. The footballer appears determined to make a full recovery and get back to playing for Wrexham as soon as possible.
