Some users in Russia have noticed that YouTube is now loading smoothly on both computers and mobile devices, even without a VPN. Subscribers of Rostelecom and other internet providers have reported improved access to the platform.
The Telegram channel Baza highlighted comments from Russian users indicating that YouTube has stopped lagging. A journalist from Baza shared her personal experience, stating that YouTube is now “flying” in the app, with previews loading instantly, which she hasn’t seen in years. However, some users are still experiencing issues with accessing the platform.
The reason for this improved access for some users is currently unknown. Russians began experiencing disruptions with YouTube in the summer of 2024. Official statements attribute the platform’s problems in the country to equipment wear and tear.
