Zelensky Warns of Russian Drone Control Bases in Belarus

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a stern warning, stating that Russia is planning to establish ground control stations for long-range attack drones within Belarus. This revelation heightens concerns regarding Minsk’s increasingly active role in the ongoing conflict.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence cited by Zelensky, there is a possibility that up to four such facilities could be constructed. These bases would significantly enhance Russia’s capability to deploy drones more efficiently from Belarusian territory, complementing operations already underway from occupied regions of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader has consistently cautioned against Belarus becoming more directly involved in the hostilities. He has previously highlighted how existing cooperation between Moscow and Minsk has already intensified the impact of Russian strikes on Ukraine.

Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine has informed its international partners about these strategic developments and made it clear that Kyiv would take responsive action should these plans materialize. “There will be reactions to this. And they will be felt,” he asserted.

As of now, Belarus has not publicly commented on these allegations. However, if confirmed, such a move would mark a significant regional escalation of the war, further complicating the delicate security dynamics along NATO’s eastern border.
