Aaron McKenna Crowned Middleweight World Champion in Dream Dublin Homecoming

Aaron McKenna has ascended to the middleweight world championship title, achieving a personal dream with a triumphant homecoming victory over Etinosa Oliha in Dublin.

For McKenna, fighting in his native Ireland represented the culmination of years of dedication. He honed his skills across America, training in elite gyms and maintaining an undefeated professional record. This bout, contested for the vacant IBF middleweight title, marked his first world championship fight and his professional debut on Irish soil.

Following his brother Stevie's impressive knockout earlier in the evening, McKenna made a dramatic entrance to the roaring 3Arena crowd. The energy was palpable, with the cheers shaking the very foundations of the arena.

Despite the emotional atmosphere, McKenna maintained his composure at the fight's outset. He adopted an assertive stance, feinting and expertly timing a left hook as Oliha, who also entered the ring undefeated, advanced.

McKenna's jab proved effective, with his swift hands and precise right hand combinations, followed by a powerful left hook, demonstrating his offensive capabilities. However, Oliha fought back fiercely in the second round, landing significant right hooks that McKenna felt, proving his own capacity for impactful attacks.
