Colby Covington, a former UFC welterweight title challenger, has been officially marked as “retired” from UFC competition, according to the promotion’s official website. This development was initially brought to light by UFC Roster Tracker, an automated social media account that monitors fighter statuses.
“Chaos” Covington, 38, has not yet issued a personal statement regarding this change in his career status. His last professional mixed martial arts bout was in December 2024, when he suffered a defeat against Joaquin Buckley.
Throughout his career, Covington emerged as a significant and often controversial figure in MMA, known for his outspoken nature and polarizing personality, which contributed to his status as one of the UFC’s prominent stars.
In recent times, Covington has participated in events outside of the traditional UFC octagon. He has secured victories against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and grappling specialist Dillon Danis under the Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF) banner. His next scheduled appearance under these rules will be against another former UFC middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, at RAF 09 on May 30.
