La patience des fans de jeux vidéo est souvent récompensée, même si cela demande parfois de longs délais. La série Dragon Ball Xenoverse, appréciée pour son mélange unique de combats intenses et d’éléments de RPG recréant fidèlement l’univers de l’anime, n’a pas eu de nouvelles depuis une décennie.
Bonne nouvelle pour les amateurs : dimanche soir, Bandai Namco a confirmé le retour de la franchise avec Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Le développement est une nouvelle fois confié à Dimps, et le titre est attendu sur PC, PlayStation 5 et Xbox Series S/X courant 2027. Une première bande-annonce a été dévoilée.
L’attente ne devrait pas être aussi longue qu’imaginé, car Bandai Namco a maintenu un excellent support pour Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Sa dernière extension, “Future Saga Chapter 4”, est d’ailleurs prévue pour cet été, près de dix ans après la sortie initiale du jeu en 2016. Si le troisième opus rencontre le même succès et bénéficie d’un soutien similaire, la communauté Dragon Ball devrait être comblée pour les années à venir.

One game series we haven’t seen in a decade is Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which was highly praised by fans for its blend of combat and full-fledged RPG elements that, together, perfectly recreated the anime.
On Sunday evening, Bandai Namco seized the opportunity to announce that they are dusting off the series once again with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Dimps is once again handling the development, and the game is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X in 2027. You can find the first trailer below.
The wait won’t be as grueling as one might fear, as Bandai Namco has done an incredibly fine job with the support for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The fact is that the final planned expansion – “Future Saga Chapter 4” – is expected to be released this summer (a massive ten years since its 2016 release). If the third game proves just as popular and receives the same incredible support, the Dragon Ball community should be set for years to come.
