UFC heavyweight contender Josh Hokit has drawn significant criticism, including from fellow fighter Valter Walker, for his unsportsmanlike comments regarding Ian Machado Garry's son.

Hokit, who is nearing a potential title shot after a dominant win over Derrick Lewis, has become a polarizing figure in the UFC. While his in-cage performance has been impressive, his behavior outside the Octagon has repeatedly landed him in hot water. Previously, Hokit made national headlines for controversial remarks about former First Lady Michelle Obama during a post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

The latest controversy erupted when Hokit responded to a viral video of Ian Machado Garry's son crying after being unable to meet Islam Makhachev. Hokit's response on social media was: "Try to play that game and have your kid shake my hand. I’d punt that f—— kid."

These remarks quickly ignited backlash from fight fans online. UFC heavyweight Valter Walker was particularly vocal in his condemnation, taking to Twitter to express his strong disapproval.

"Any jacka– with two personalities, just so he can hide behind one of them, is a complete idiot," Walker tweeted, directly addressing Hokit's behavior. He added, "Just shut up. ‘Incredible s—.’"

As of now, Hokit has not replied to Walker's criticism. Walker himself recently secured a submission victory over Thomas Petersen at UFC Abu Dhabi.

With Hokit's ascent towards a potential heavyweight title opportunity, his controversial conduct appears to be alienating potential allies within the division. As both Hokit and Walker continue to achieve success in the Octagon, a future clash between them could become a significant storyline.
