OFX Irish Legends Returns to Carton House with Golfing Greats
The prestigious Montgomerie Course at Carton House is set to host the OFX Irish Legends golf tournament from July 10 to 12. This esteemed Co Kildare venue has a storied history of staging high-profile European Tour events, including both men's and women's Irish Opens, and previously welcomed the Irish Legends in 2010.
The 2026 OFX Irish Legends promises an exhilarating lineup, bringing together an elite field of Major champions, Ryder Cup veterans, and accomplished Tour winners. Among the distinguished participants confirmed are Open champion Paul Lawrie and US Open winner Michael Campbell. Adding to the star power, Paul McGinley, the triumphant captain of the 2014 Ryder Cup team, will be joined by several players from his winning Gleneagles squad, including Jamie Donaldson and Stephen Gallacher.
With the Ryder Cup slated to return to Ireland in 2027, the OFX Irish Legends event serves as a significant precursor, drawing many of golf's most recognizable figures back to Irish fairways.
Paul McGinley emphasized the unique appeal of the tournament, stating: "The OFX Irish Legends consistently delivers a special week. Irish golf enthusiasts deeply appreciate the sport and its heritage, and Carton House is an ideal setting for an event of this caliber. The upcoming Ryder Cup in 2027 adds an extra layer of excitement, making it even more remarkable to have so many iconic players, who are integral to that Ryder Cup narrative, competing again before Irish spectators."
Jeff Mullen, whose family owns Carton House, expressed his pride in hosting: "We are honored to welcome the OFX Irish Legends to Carton House, continuing the estate's tradition of hosting world-class golf. This event highlights Ireland's strong golfing legacy and builds anticipation for the 2027 Ryder Cup. Carton House provides an exceptional environment for both competitors and guests, and we are committed to delivering an outstanding experience both on and off the course."
David Adams, Managing Director of the Staysure Legends Tour, shared his enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to bring the OFX Irish Legends to Carton House in 2026. The venue offers a fantastic stage for our players. Ireland has consistently shown tremendous support for this tournament, and with the Ryder Cup on the horizon, there's a palpable sense of excitement growing around golf in the country. We are delighted to be part of this momentum."
A distinctive element of the OFX Irish Legends is the unparalleled opportunity it offers amateur golfers. Those who aspire to play alongside Ryder Cup legends and Major champions can experience a rare chance to step inside the ropes and get a taste of professional golf for a week.
