Former UFC star Dustin Poirier was taken into custody in Georgia on Sunday, facing charges of public intoxication. The specifics of the incident involving the retired mixed martial artist have yet to be fully disclosed. Poirier was apprehended on Father’s Day and subsequently released that same evening around 10 p.m.
While Poirier has not directly commented on the arrest, he shared a message on his Instagram Stories on Monday stating, “Love you all I’m working on myself.”
In Georgia, a conviction for public intoxication can result in a jail sentence of up to one year, a fine of up to $1,000, or both penalties.
