Ingrid’s Debut in Street Fighter 6: A First Look

Ingrid, a character with a Scandinavian-sounding name, is one of Capcom’s most unusual creations. She was originally slated to debut in Capcom Fighting All-Stars in 2003, but as you may recall, that project was canceled. However, Capcom liked her, so she was repurposed for other projects, most notably Capcom Fighting Evolution.

Now, it’s time for her to make her true debut in Street Fighter, with a brand-new look and design crafted specifically for Street Fighter 6. Ingrid is not a human character, allowing her to stand out with her more fluid movements and unique abilities, which will likely make her very popular.

On May 28th, she will appear on the Street Fighter 6 website as the final fighter in the Year 3 Character Pass, and the first trailer featuring her was released an hour ago. Judging by the comments, people are really enjoying her, even if some point out that she doesn’t exactly blend in with the rest of the roster, seeming instead to belong in Guilty Gear or Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. The consensus also appears to be that she seems to be a very powerful character.

Given her ability to summon portals, many believe that Ingrid will be the character that allows Tifa, a character from Final Fantasy VII, to appear as a guest in Street Fighter 6, as was recently announced by a relatively reliable source.
