Dana White Praises Rising Star Bella Mir Ahead of Contender Series Debut
UFC President Dana White has shared his strong admiration for Bella Mir as she gears up for her upcoming debut on Dana White's Contender Series.
Bella Mir is emerging as a significant prospect in the mixed martial arts world and is on the cusp of her official UFC debut. She aims to emulate the success of her renowned father, Frank Mir.
While acknowledging that coming from a prominent MMA family doesn't guarantee success, Mir is reportedly committed to the demanding work required to compete at the highest level.
During a recent post-fight press conference, Dana White elaborated on his positive assessment of Bella Mir:
"She is an absolute freak of nature and incredibly special," White stated. "Her ambitions in combat sports extend beyond just becoming a UFC world champion; she also aims to be a Zuffa boxing world champion, win an Olympic medal, and claim the UFC BJJ championship. It’s even possible she might try boxing too, given her drive."
White continued, "I've been impressed by her since she finished high school. Witnessing her dedication firsthand, like stories of her running with sandbags around the cul-de-sac at just six years old, shows she's truly built differently."
He further recounted, "Even during her college wrestling season, she would return home for holidays and compete in jiu-jitsu tournaments, defeating top competitors without dedicated jiu-jitsu training, relying solely on her wrestling prowess."
