Gustavo Trujillo Secures Ninth Career Knockout, Defends Heavyweight Title at BKB 58
Miami, Florida, buzzed with excitement on Saturday night as BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing hosted a thrilling event at the James L. Knight Center, marked by fierce competition and a series of impressive knockouts.
The main event pitted reigning BKB Heavyweight Champion Gustavo "The Cuban Assassin" Trujillo against former champion Mick Terrill, who accepted the fight on short notice. Terrill attempted to close the distance early, but found himself absorbing several damaging hooks.
In the final seconds of the second round, Trujillo landed a powerful shot to the liver, securing his ninth bare-knuckle knockout win and successfully defending his BKB Heavyweight World Title. The championship belt was then presented to him by boxing legend Tyson Fury.
The co-main event showcased the immense talent of Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa. At 44 years old, the Cuban striker delivered a commanding performance, outpointing Yesner "Cuajadita" Talavera over five rounds.
David Tetrault, CEO of BKB, commented on the event's success, stating, "We're hearing back from TikTok that our numbers tonight broke new records. We’re really spreading the word of what BKB is. Everybody is tuning in. It’s a hell of a party."
Tyson Fury, former Unified, WBC, and Lineal Heavyweight Boxing World Champion, was in attendance to support his countryman. When asked about a potential move to BKB, Fury playfully responded, "I’ve retired more times than anyone in history," but also indicated his openness to fighting, adding, "I’m a prize fighter. Show me the money."
