Gable Steveson experienced a highly unexpected outcome at UFC 331, facing one of the most surprising defeats in mixed martial arts history. Entering the event as a strong favorite against Sean Sharaf, Steveson was knocked out mere seconds into the first round.

This loss was a significant blow to Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist who joined the UFC with considerable anticipation earlier this year. His debut fight resulted in a swift first-round finish on a card that also featured Conor McGregor's return in July.

Steveson's conduct before and after the fight has drawn criticism, leaving his relationship with fans strained. Israel Adesanya, a former UFC middleweight champion who has also endured several unexpected losses recently, suggested Steveson take a break from public attention following UFC 331.

Adesanya's advice for Steveson post-UFC 331

In a recent appearance on the Precision podcast with Demetrious Johnson, Adesanya offered direct advice to Steveson about handling his significant defeat.

Adesanya commented on Steveson's current standing: "You already know what it’s going to be. Right now, he is already a villain in this fight. By the crowd’s response and also by his allegations…now after this, he’s just going to have to weather the storm."

He continued, "Just disconnect; people will say other things, and don’t let that affect you. When you disconnect, just be in the gym and with your people. Stay with them – because again, we don’t know what happens in certain circles. And on the internet, it’s a free-for-all. All is fair in love and war.

“So just disconnect, stay with your circle, keep training, and don’t let these kinds of things derail you.”

As of now, Steveson has not made any public statements since UFC 331.
