Josh Fremd Reflects on PFL Pittsburgh Win, UFC Release, and Future in BKFC
Following his impressive third-round TKO victory over Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi (21-7) at PFL Pittsburgh on March 28th, Josh Fremd (12-6) has opened up about significant transitions in his professional fighting career. The athlete discussed his recent release from the UFC, his decision to take a break from competition in 2025, and his surprising move to bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC, where he is scheduled to fight in a few weeks.
Fremd confirmed his readiness for his next challenge despite the recent bout, stating, “I’m cleared, I think it’s like a seven-day thing to let these stitches heal up.” He further clarified a pre-existing commitment to BKFC that PFL is allowing him to honor. “Before the PFL came along, I was signed to BKFC. Obviously PFL is my goal, MMA is a goal,” Fremd explained. He expressed a keen interest in testing his boxing pedigree in the bare-knuckle format: “I was a Golden Gloves boxer, and I want to give myself a test in this.” Additionally, Fremd shared his excitement about potentially sharing a fight card with his teammate Chris Camozzi, noting, “It would be an honor to share the card with him.”
