The adventure for Ubisoft's turn-based NFT RPG, "Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles," is drawing to a close. In a recent announcement on the game's Discord channel, it was revealed that the project will soon be shut down, with a complete decommissioning scheduled for October 2026.

The official final day of activity for Champions Tactics is slated for October 30th. Leading up to this date, several changes will be implemented to inform fans about the impending closure. Notably, in-game purchases will be deactivated across all platforms. This move follows the game's abandonment of Web3 support in May, as it attempted to reinvent itself.

The shutdown announcement stated: "After careful consideration, we have made the decision to end the game. The servers for Champions Tactics will be officially shut down on October 30th."

"Until then, the game will remain fully playable, and our goal is to ensure players can continue to enjoy the experience during these final months. As part of this transition, in-game purchases will be deactivated on all platforms."

"We sincerely thank you for your support, passion, and dedication to Champions Tactics. We will provide more details and reminders as the closure date approaches."

Champions Tactics was launched in 2024 and has had a turbulent lifecycle, largely attributed to its NFT-centric design, which remains a point of contention for many users. The game's concept involved using virtual currency or cryptocurrency to acquire characters for in-game use, but this approach never truly gained significant traction.
