Dro Fernández: Barcelona Prodigy Makes History with First PSG Goal
Eighteen-year-old Dro Fernández, a highly-touted homegrown talent from FC Barcelona, made a contentious move to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2026. This transfer, widely seen as a betrayal, reportedly incensed Barça president Joan Laporta. Born in January 2008, making him even younger than Lamine Yamal, Dro (whose real name is Pedro Fernández) was a promising Galician midfielder for Barça B. He was considered a cornerstone of Barcelona's future, even making a few first-team appearances during the 2025/26 season. However, he now plays under coach Luis Enrique, following a reported €8.2 million agreement.
Dro recently opened his scoring account for PSG in a dominant 4-0 Ligue 1 victory over Nice, simultaneously etching his name into the Parisian club's record books. Coming on as a substitute and playing for just fifteen minutes, Dro netted his debut goal from a pass by Dembélé. This strike made him the youngest non-academy player to score for Paris Saint-Germain's senior team.
At just 18 years and 68 days old, Dro surpassed Kylian Mbappé's record, who was older when he scored his first PSG goal after his transfer from Monaco. Dro's significant goal also marked PSG's 100th across all competitions this season, further solidifying the team's position atop the Ligue 1 standings.
