Eight PlayStation Studios Have Ceased Operations Since the PS5's Debut
The recent news of Sony's decision to close Bluepoint Games, just a few years after its acquisition, sent ripples through the PlayStation community. This was quickly followed by the announcement that Dark Outlaw Games would also be ceasing operations.
These events, combined with several other developer closures by Sony in recent years, contribute to a noticeable trend of game studios being shut down this console generation. For those who suspect that Sony has closed an unusually high number of developers, the data confirms it: a total of eight PlayStation Studios have ceased operations since the launch of the PlayStation 5.
