FC Barcelona Prepares to Sell Ferran Torres to Focus on Lewandowski, Rashford, and Julián Álvarez
FC Barcelona is reportedly prepared to part ways with Ferran Torres in order to assemble a stronger attacking lineup for the upcoming season. With Lamine Yamal and Raphinha firmly established in the squad, the Catalan club is also eager to make Marcus Rashford's loan spell from Manchester United permanent for an estimated €30 million. Furthermore, they aim to secure an additional year for Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires in June and who has attracted interest from various teams.
The ultimate dream target for Barça at this moment is Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, who appears keen on departing Atlético Madrid next season. None of these potential acquisitions would come cheap, which is why the club is open to offers for Ferran Torres. The Spanish international's contract runs until 2027, making this summer a crucial window to cash in on him and generate funds for future transfer operations.
An ideal scenario for Barcelona would see Álvarez leading the line as the starting striker next season, with Lewandowski providing experienced backup. This arrangement would inevitably reduce playing time for Torres.
Ferran Torres, an academy product of Valencia, joined Barcelona in 2022 from Manchester City. The 26-year-old has scored 12 LaLiga goals this season, placing him second only to Lamine Yamal's 14 goals for FC Barcelona. He has netted 16 goals across all competitions this season, but notably, only three of those have come in 2026, and he hasn't scored since January 31st.
