Mob Entertainment Offers a Glimpse into Poppy Playtime's Next Chapter, and It Might Not Be What We Expected
With the release of Poppy Playtime's fifth chapter now behind us, anticipation is high for concrete information on Mob Entertainment's future plans. Although a now-edited LinkedIn page previously suggested Chapter 6 was imminent, seemingly supported by planned staff restructuring, it's also evident that the developer aims to broaden the universe with a multiplayer title and a new intellectual property.
Indeed, this was hinted at earlier this year in an interview where it was stated that "the universe is larger than what a single factory could contain." This is now being concretely confirmed as Mob Entertainment has begun to unveil a new title that doesn't appear to be a direct continuation of the Poppy Playtime chapters, but will feature the return of the train character known as Barry, from Chapter 2.
A rather mysterious Steam page has appeared, highlighting a game titled Experiment 82626. This experience aims to blend the genres of horror, survival horror, first-person perspective, stealth, comedy, and exploration.
So far, two brief descriptions have been provided for the game. The first reads: "What time is it? We're almost there..." The second offers a bit more insight into what the game will entail, stating: "You must earn your place in our future home... Multiplayer co-op mode... The Poppy Playtime canon... Proximity chat..."
With this information now revealed, we can expect more news to surface very soon, so stay tuned for what the creators of Poppy Playtime will bring us next.
