While the live-action One Piece Season 2 was recently previewed by Netflix, with its release expected next year, the streaming giant has another significant One Piece project in the works: a brand-new animated remake. This fresh endeavor might seem surprising given that the original anime series is still ongoing and has not yet concluded.
Titled The One Piece, this new adaptation is being produced by Wit Studio, renowned for its work on acclaimed series like Attack on Titan (seasons 1-3) and Spy x Family. It will embark on its journey by re-adapting the beloved East Blue saga. The primary goal of this remake is to provide a more accessible entry point for new viewers into the vast and intricate world of One Piece, especially considering the original anime currently spans nearly 1,200 episodes and continues to expand. This new series promises enhanced pacing and elevated production standards, aiming to present the epic tale with modern animation techniques and a fresh perspective.
Netflix has now offered an exciting first glimpse of the upcoming series.
