Super Mario Sunshine and Virtual Boy Classics Arrive on Nintendo Switch Online

August 2, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

Nintendo Switch Online is set to receive a significant boost next month with the addition of Super Mario Sunshine to its Classics section. Alongside this beloved platformer, two new, previously unreleased Virtual Boy titles will also become available.

Super Mario Sunshine will launch on August 13th, while the Virtual Boy games will be accessible earlier, on August 4th.

These additions will be available through the Nintendo Classics section of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Prior to this, Super Mario Sunshine was only playable in its original form or through the now-discontinued Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. The two Virtual Boy games making their debut are D-Hooper and Zero Racers.

Zero Racers, in fact, was a completed spin-off of the F-Zero series that never saw a commercial release. With these new additions, nearly all games released for the Virtual Boy platform will be playable on the Nintendo Switch Online service. It's unlikely that some later titles, such as Waterworld, will arrive on NSO due to their licensing, and the question remains if there's significant demand for such a game.
