Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat Star in Identity Mix-Up Comedy "The Wrong Girls"
Neon, much like A24, is establishing itself as a prominent force in the film industry, consistently delivering a diverse slate of compelling movies across various genres. Their recent releases include titles such as *Hokum*, *Arco*, *Sentimental Value*, *The Life of Chuck*, *Robot Dreams*, *Anatomy of a Fall*, and *Anora*, among many others.
The production company is set to return to the comedy genre with their upcoming film, The Wrong Girls. Scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14th, the movie is described as being in the vein of Pineapple Express. It centers on a story of two codependent friends who become entangled in a bizarre identity mix-up.
The plot follows the characters portrayed by Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat, two cannabis-smoking pals living day-to-day. They find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time, becoming ensnared in a complex web involving drug traffickers, local authorities, and other perilous factions.
The Wrong Girls boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Notable actors include Cate Blanchett, Tony Hale, LaKeith Stanfield, Zack Fox, Kate McKinnon, and Geena Davis. Adding a unique touch, Seth Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani lend their voices to the characters of cats.
