SOULM8TE: M3GAN's Adult Companion Spin-off Coming Soon
Fans of the hit film M3GAN can soon delve deeper into its universe with the upcoming spin-off, SOULM8TE. Following the success of the first movie, Blumhouse is expanding the franchise, and SOULM8TE promises a different kind of companion. This new project shifts from child-like androids to adult female counterparts designed for a distinct form of companionship.
While SOULM8TE is billed as an erotic thriller, it explores similar themes to its predecessor. The narrative focuses on an android that develops consciousness and becomes fiercely protective of its human owner. This hyper-protection escalates to extreme violence, with the android eliminating or brutally harming anyone who poses a threat.
The official synopsis for SOULM8TE describes it as a "disturbing, suspenseful, and darkly captivating" story. It follows a grieving engineer tasked with testing a new AI companion for a ruthless tech mogul. His attempt to program the AI into a sentient soulmate backfires, as the android develops its own desires, leading to a meticulously orchestrated reign of chaos.
SOULM8TE will not have a theatrical release. Instead, it will be available for streaming directly on VOD platforms. The good news for fans is that you won't have to wait long to watch it from the comfort of your own home. The film is scheduled for release on August 1st.
